State Dignitaries Honored with the Nation’s Highest Awards

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has today conferred the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (N.I.I.V), the highest state honor of the Maldives, upon four distinguished individuals. The recipients of this prestigious accolade are:

Champa Mohamed Moosa (Uchu): Recognized for his exemplary services in the fields of business, tourism, and agriculture. He has made significant contributions to the nation’s economic growth and social welfare, particularly through the philanthropic initiatives of the “Ali Fulhu Thuttu Foundation.”

Champa Hussain Afeef: A pioneer of the Maldivian tourism industry who has made substantial investments in the development of tourism, banking, and healthcare. He played a pivotal role in the establishment of Tree Top Hospital and the Commercial Bank of Maldives.

Al-Usthaadh Ibrahim Rasheed Moosa: An eminent scholar who has dedicated over 43 years to promoting Islamic awareness and expanding Arabic and Islamic education in the Maldives. He has held senior leadership positions at the Mauhad (Institute of Islamic Studies) and the Centre for the Holy Quran.

Dr. Mohamed Latheef: A distinguished educator with over 40 years of service, having served as the Minister of Education and the Chancellor of the Maldives National University. He is regarded as a key architect in the formulation of the national curriculum and the expansion of higher education in the Maldives.

These honors were bestowed in recognition of their invaluable and long-standing contributions toward the progress of the nation and the well-being of its citizens.
