President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged every Maldivian citizen to instill noble values such as integrity, honesty, and loyalty to ensure the continued independence of the nation. Speaking at the official ceremony marking Independence Day, the President noted that long-serving state officials have set an exemplary standard through these high virtues. He highlighted that throughout history, the nation’s independence was compromised only when such values were lacking. Furthermore, the President emphasized the importance of revitalizing the Islamic faith, the Dhivehi language, and Maldivian culture, while prioritizing national interests above individual ones. He further asserted that true independence encompasses political, economic, and social freedom, assuring that the government’s foreign policy will consistently prioritize the supreme interests of the Maldivian people.
