
Voting has officially begun in Fuvahmulah City as part of the nationwide Local Council Elections, Women’s Development Committee (WDC) Elections, and a public referendum held today across the Maldives.
Polling is currently underway at six designated centers in Fuvahmulah City, all of which commenced operations as scheduled. According to the Elections Commission, polling stations across the country will remain open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

- Fuvahmulah City Youth Center
- Fuvahmulah City Atoll Education Centre
- Hafiz Ahmed School
- Zikra Maalegan Center
- Fuvahmulah School (2 Voting Stations)
In addition to electing members for the Fuvahmulah City Council and the Women’s Development Committee, constituents are also casting their votes in a public referendum to determine support for the ratification of the 8th amendment to the Constitution.
A total of eight members will be elected to the Fuvahmulah City Council, with the Mayor being elected through a city-wide vote. Similarly, eight members will be elected to the Women’s Development Committee from their respective administrative constituencies, while the President of the committee will be elected separately.
A total of 6,444 eligible voters are registered to cast their ballots in Fuvahmulah City.
