The Minister of Tourism, Ibrahim Faisal, has stated that tourist arrivals to the Maldives are projected to increase during the third and fourth quarters of this year. While the Maldives has already welcomed one million tourists so far this year, the government has set an ambitious target of reaching 2.5 million arrivals by year-end. Despite a slight slowdown in arrivals due to the ongoing unrest in the Middle East, the industry is now on a positive trajectory, bolstered by proactive government measures and the introduction of new airlines. To further boost numbers, strategic efforts are being focused on the Chinese and Russian markets. Currently, the Maldives is experiencing a steady influx, with an average of over 5,000 tourists arriving daily.
