The special flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the 134th anniversary of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) was held this morning at Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi, with Minister of Defence Hassan Rasheed officiating as the Guest of Honour.
During the ceremony, this year’s official motto, “Military Discipline – The Advancement of Soldiers,” was formally inaugurated. The event was attended by senior military leadership and a large number of personnel from various ranks.
The ceremony, which concluded with a special prayer and the MNDF anthem, was simultaneously conducted at all military bases and area commands across the Maldives. Formal military service in the Maldives was established on April 21, 1892.
