Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef has stated that there is a significant surge in demand for taxi services in Malé, with an increasing number of people seeking the service. The government-led initiative was launched last April to address the challenges faced by the public, such as private taxis refusing fares and the existing supply failing to meet demand.
Since its inception, the service has received an overwhelming public response, completing over 13,000 trips within its first month alone. Operated by MTCC with a fleet of 150 eco-friendly vehicles, the government has affirmed that they are actively monitoring public feedback to further enhance and streamline the service.
