
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the introduction of a prestigious National Award, effective from next year, to honor and recognize those who demonstrate exceptional commitment to safeguarding the public from the hazards of tobacco.
Speaking at the official ceremony held to mark Independence Day, the President emphasized that the government’s recent measures to prohibit tobacco and vaping products are pivotal steps toward fostering a healthier future generation. Furthermore, he highlighted the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the national healthcare system and address challenges in accessing essential medication through the introduction of the ‘State Pharma’ initiative. The President concluded by reaffirming his government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing public health and protecting citizens from preventable diseases.
