Deadline Extended for Helicopter Service Proposals

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has extended the deadline for submitting proposals to provide helicopter services, including Emergency Medical Services (EMS), in the Maldives until April 20th. This extension was granted following requests from several interested parties and in consideration of the logistical challenges companies are currently facing due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Under the terms of the project, the selected operator is required to provide 50 hours of free medical services per month for the first three years. Search and rescue operations will be conducted on a government-funded basis. This 10-year authorization is open to parties with a minimum of five years of operational experience who are collaborating with a Maldivian company. The agreement for this project is scheduled to be signed in June, with an official service commencement deadline set for no later than November 2027.
