Minister of Housing, Dr. Abdulla Muthalib, has stated that election results should not be viewed as a final conclusion. He emphasized that success requires humility, while failure should be met with the courage to reflect and improve.
Following the setbacks faced by the ruling PNC in yesterday’s local council by-elections and the public referendum, the Minister noted that in a democracy, it is essential to respect the people’s decision. He further highlighted the importance of learning from these outcomes and working with renewed determination to regain public trust.
In this election, the MDP secured seats in all major cities. Additionally, a significant majority of the public voted against the proposal to hold presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously.
