Shamhooza Ahmed has been removed from her position as the Chairperson of the Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). This decision has been confirmed by the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB). According to the PCB, Shamhooza Ahmed has been relieved of her duties as both the Chairperson and a member of the Board of Directors of MWSC, effective from today.
Her dismissal comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to restructure and enhance the governance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). In a similar administrative change, Hussain Fahmy was recently appointed as the Managing Director of MWSC, following the resignation of Abdul Matheen Mohamed from the post on April 12th.
