Bulgarian carrier “GullivAir” is set to launch direct scheduled flights to the Maldives starting November 6, 2024, continuing through March 26, 2025, to coincide with the European winter season. Utilizing Airbus A330-200 aircraft, the airline will operate two weekly flights on Fridays and Saturdays. This marks the inaugural establishment of scheduled air connectivity between the two nations.
As several other airlines are also increasing their flight frequencies for the winter peak, the Ministry of Tourism remains optimistic about the industry’s performance. Despite a slight slowdown in arrivals due to the prevailing situation in the Middle East, the Ministry anticipates successfully reaching the national target of 2.3 million tourist arrivals for this year.
