Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed has announced that private companies are now eligible to join “Anka,” a logistics network established to strengthen the Maldives’ logistics sector. This network serves as an integrated system connecting the commercial ports of Malé, Kulhudhuffushi, and Addu City. While private sector participation is welcomed, the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) will continue to play a leading role in the initiative to ensure food security. Furthermore, the Minister noted that the government is actively working to construct warehousing facilities across various regions of the country, as well as to establish fuel reserves in three strategic locations capable of sustaining national requirements for up to one year.
