Following the recent restructuring of the Cabinet by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the names of 14 ministers who were recently sworn in have been submitted to the People’s Majlis for parliamentary approval. As part of these administrative changes, the number of cabinet portfolios has been streamlined from 20 to 15. This group of 14 ministers includes five newly appointed members and nine who took their oaths again due to changes in their respective ministerial mandates.
The matter has been forwarded to the Government Oversight Committee for further review and assessment. The final decision regarding the parliamentary consent for these ministers will be made through a vote on the Majlis floor, based on the findings and recommendations presented in the committee’s report.
