The Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development is currently facilitating the handover of land plots in Gulhifalhu, in accordance with the newly revised Land Use Plan. To date, lease agreements have been executed with 2,972 beneficiaries, of which 169 individuals have officially taken physical possession of their allocated land.
Under this housing initiative, residential plots are being issued in seven distinct sizes, ranging from 1,250 to 3,650 square feet. The Gulhifalhu development plan was strategically restructured to ensure the future community has comprehensive access to essential services, including educational facilities, healthcare, and recreational spaces.
Furthermore, the government has commissioned the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and the Road Development Corporation (RDC) to undertake the development of the island’s road networks and the establishment of essential utility services.
