President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that following the scheduled reopening of the segment between the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and Izzuddin Jetty next week, the modernization project for Boduthakurufaanu Magu will proceed to the section connecting North Harbor and Rasfannu.
This project, undertaken by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), involves widening the outer ring road to accommodate dual-lane traffic in both directions. This strategic expansion is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion within Malé and the busy local market area.
Furthermore, as a solution to the city’s parking challenges, a portion of land has been reclaimed to facilitate parking for approximately 500 motorcycles. The project also prioritizes urban beautification, with plans to plant trees along both sides of the road to create a more pleasant environment. Continuous efforts are currently being made to ensure the completion of all project activities by the 26th of this month.
