The General Purpose Committee of the People’s Majlis has decided to grant Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim 10 minutes to respond to the resolution seeking his removal from office. A total of one hour has been allocated for the floor debate on this matter, with each participating member allotted three minutes for their remarks. According to the parliamentary rules of procedure, once such a resolution is tabled, no other legislative business can be conducted until a decision is reached. While Nazim maintains the right to speak in his own defense during the proceedings, he is prohibited from participating in the final vote regarding his dismissal. The resolution will be passed if it receives the majority vote of the members present and voting.
