The Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, has provided assurances that the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) operates based on professional expertise and comprehensive risk assessments during the ongoing search and rescue operation for the missing divers in Vaavu Atoll.
Addressing social media speculation surrounding the untimely demise of Staff Sergeant Mohamed Mahudhee during this mission, the Minister emphasized that military personnel are highly trained professionals. He stated that Staff Sergeant Mahudhee passed away while performing his national duty.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted that if military personnel were to refrain from operating in hazardous conditions, essential services would be unavailable during times of crisis. He urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to show the utmost respect for the memory of the deceased.
