President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to fulfilling the pledges made to the people, regardless of whether a particular council provides its cooperation. Highlighting that recent election results demonstrate the public’s prioritization of religious and nationalistic values, the President assured that the government would continue to work in the best interest of the citizens, even in major cities where the government did not secure a majority.
Addressing the unethical conduct of some elected candidates, the President warned that if any council refuses to cooperate without a justifiable reason, the government will disclose the matter to the public. Furthermore, the President attributed the unfavorable outcome of the recent referendum to challenges in information dissemination and announced that the People’s National Congress (PNC) would hold its party congress this October to further strengthen the party’s activities.
