The Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, has stated that for the current administration, housing is not a matter of political leverage, but a vital humanitarian responsibility. Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for 1,190 housing units in Hulhumalé, the Minister emphasized that the government’s primary objective is to ensure secure housing for every citizen. He highlighted that initiatives are already underway to provide affordable financing options for first-time homebuyers and “lease-to-own” housing models tailored for low-income families. Furthermore, the Minister noted that administrative efforts are being prioritized to assist vulnerable families living in difficult conditions. He reassured the public that under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, no citizen will be left behind in the government’s housing initiatives.
