
Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Heena Waleed, has stated that a primary objective of the government is to consult with professionals in the cultural heritage sector and shape policies based on their insights to advance the field. Speaking at the “Tharikaveringe Adu” (Voice of Heritage Professionals) meeting, the Minister highlighted that this marks the first instance where professional practitioners from various fields, such as traditional medicine and visual arts, have been convened for such consultations. The Minister further noted that under President Dr. Muizzu’s pledge to revive national identity, significant efforts are underway to digitalize the heritage sector and focus on human resource development within the field.
