The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has set a significant precedent by becoming the first state-owned enterprise (SOE) to proactively disclose all information mandated under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. Information Commissioner Ahid Rasheed highlighted this achievement, urging other government-owned companies to follow HDC’s exemplary lead in ensuring transparency and accountability.
Under the current administration, the President’s Office and 16 ministries have already complied with the legal requirement to publish mandated information. According to Article 37 of the RTI Act, state institutions are legally obligated to disclose details regarding their operations, services, administrative structure, and significant decisions of public interest at least once a year.
