The Government of Maldives has officially commenced providing fuel subsidies for yellowfin tuna fishing vessels through State Trading Organization (STO), effective from today. Under this initiative, arrangements have been established for fishermen to purchase fuel at subsidized rates from Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) stations located in Hulhumalé and Himmafushi. Despite the rising fuel prices in the global market, the government has provided assurances that domestic fuel prices will be maintained without further hikes and that measures are in place to ensure a continuous and uninterrupted fuel supply.
