During his official visit to China, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, met with the Governor of Hainan Province, Liu Xiaoming, to discuss maximizing the benefits of the Maldives-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. During the meeting, China reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Maldives’ key developmental sectors. Furthermore, Minister Saeed held discussions with the leadership of Hainan State Farms regarding the enhancement of food security and the expansion of Maldivian fish product exports to the Hainan market.
