The President stated that Malé and Villingili are now physically connected, and efforts are underway to complete the entire project up to Thilafushi and open it to the public within the next year.
While the current administration has implemented measures to expedite the bridge’s construction, 76 percent of the project has now been completed. This 6.7-kilometer project, which connects Malé, Villingili, Gulhifalhu, and Thilafushi, is being developed with Indian assistance at a total cost of 500 million dollars. It remains a vital initiative for the economic and social development of the Maldives.
