The bodies of two Italian tourists, who went missing during a diving expedition in Vaavu Atoll, have been recovered. All four individuals who disappeared on the 14th of this month were located within the cave where they had been diving. This recovery effort was a collaborative operation involving the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the Maldives Police Service, and international experts appointed by the Italian government. Prior to this, the body of one individual from the group of five missing persons had already been found. In a further tragic turn of events, a Maldivian military diver also lost his life due to complications while engaged in the search and rescue mission.
