Belgium has officially prohibited the import of goods produced in occupied Palestinian territories. This decision aligns with similar measures taken by nations such as Spain, the Netherlands, and Ireland, choosing to act independently of a collective European Union resolution in response to the ongoing aggression in Gaza. While the European Union remains Israel’s largest trading partner, various investigations have revealed that products manufactured within these occupied territories are often exported under misleading labels. In light of these findings, several former European leaders have also called for a union-wide ban on such goods.
