President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has provided assurance that the airport development project and the 30-bed hospital in R. Alifushi will be completed within the current presidential term. The President stated that the necessary financing for these projects, contracted to MTCC, has been secured and that physical works will proceed at an accelerated pace without further delay.
The new hospital in Alifushi is a project valued at MVR 128 million. Upon completion, the facility will expand specialist medical services on the island and will be equipped with modern amenities, including isolation facilities and solar energy systems. Furthermore, the MVR 426 million airport project, for which a significant portion of land reclamation has already been completed, is a crucial initiative linked to the island’s housing and economic development. President Muizzu highlighted that within the administration’s priority to strengthen the health sector, all developmental pledges made to the people of Alifushi will be fulfilled.
