The Member of Parliament for Velidhoo constituency, Mohamed Abbas, has deleted a social media post concerning the income received by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed as a consultant for the Ministry of Health, after the information was proven to be false.
Abbas had alleged that the First Lady received 5 million Rufiyaa over the past six months. However, the financial statement disclosed by the President reveals that her total earnings for that period amounted to only 4,927.32 Rufiyaa. Following the exposure of the actual facts and subsequent public backlash, Abbas removed the post. The dissemination of such misinformation by political figures remains a significant matter of public concern.
