A high-level Maldivian delegation is currently conducting a series of strategic meetings in Beijing to further enhance tourist arrivals from China. The official visit, scheduled from the 1st to the 11th of this month, comprises senior executives from the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (Visit Maldives), Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), and the national airline, Maldivian.

During the mission, the delegation engaged in high-level discussions with leading Chinese airlines and prominent tour operators. These consultations focused on intensifying the promotion of various Maldivian tourism segments and exploring the launch of innovative promotional campaigns tailored for the Chinese market.

China continues to maintain its position as the primary source market for the Maldives’ tourism industry. According to the latest statistics, over 168,677 Chinese tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year, representing a robust growth of 19.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
