A Maldivian national and another individual have been taken into custody in Sri Lanka for allegedly operating an unauthorized television and radio station near the Ratmalana Airport. During the operation, authorities seized broadcasting equipment valued at approximately 50 million Rupees.
Reports indicate that the station was being operated under the pretext of a travel agency, where satellite channels were being broadcast and sold without the necessary permits. The Maldivian High Commission in Sri Lanka has confirmed the arrest of a 55-year-old Maldivian man in relation to the case. Sri Lankan police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
