The President’s Office has decided to restrict journalists from “Adhadhu” news from attending its official press conferences. This decision stems from an ongoing criminal case in the Criminal Court regarding a video circulated by the news outlet, and a recent incident during today’s press conference where journalist Mohamed Shahudhan posed a question in defiance of a court order.
According to the President’s Office, this measure was taken under established administrative policies following violations of journalistic codes of ethics and the failure to uphold the responsibility of disseminating truthful information. The President stated that despite the levelling of false accusations, he remains committed to upholding the rule of law and legal sovereignty. Furthermore, Shahudhan has been summoned to court for questioning in relation to his violation of the judicial order.
