President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that employees who did not benefit from salary increments during the initial pay harmonization process will receive their revised salaries effective from this May. The President stated that the Pay Commission has now resolved the discrepancies previously faced by staff in Human Resources, the legal sector, and various positions within local councils.

Furthermore, regarding the efforts to address the issue of undocumented expatriates in the Maldives, the President highlighted that “Operation Kurangi” is a comprehensive initiative designed to protect the rights of foreign workers and facilitate their regularization. He also noted that significant progress has been made in this effort, with biometric data already collected from a large number of individuals.
