President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that four significant state-owned properties, including Dharumavantha Hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), and Iskandhar School, which were collateralized by the previous administration to secure a USD 524 million Sukuk, have now been successfully reclaimed.
Speaking in AA. Rasdhoo, the President highlighted that the government managed to fulfill these financial obligations without incurring additional debt or liquidating any state assets. Furthermore, he noted that efforts are underway to recover other pledged properties and emphasized that national development projects valued at MVR 4 billion are currently in progress across various islands.
