The land reclamation and design phases of “Project Aailaa”—the first sustainable township to be developed in the Maldives—have been successfully completed, and physical construction is now underway. Launched by the President, the current phase of the project focuses on establishing essential infrastructure, road networks, and the development of the staff village.
Prioritizing smart technology and renewable energy, this landmark project features luxury residences, international-standard educational and healthcare facilities, as well as a resort and a marina. Furthermore, the township incorporates dedicated systems for agriculture and fisheries to ensure food security. The project is strategically aimed for completion by the year 2028.
