The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has conducted training programs on the production of value-added fish products for over 130 individuals across five islands in the Maldives. The primary objective of this initiative is to reduce the export of raw fish and enhance national revenue by increasing the export of locally manufactured value-added products.

The government places a high priority on expanding local participation in this sector. In this regard, the President has reaffirmed his commitment to facilitating financial assistance and investment opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in these activities.
