According to the latest statistics from the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), Zakat al-Mal collections for the current year have reached MVR 45.3 million. This represents a 30% increase compared to the same period last year. Of this total, MVR 27.4 million was collected during the month of March alone.
The Nisab for Zakat al-Mal, which fluctuates based on the global market prices of gold and silver, is currently set at MVR 19,527.90. For the convenience of the public, MIRA has facilitated online payment options for Zakat through its official website.
