MTCC has officially commenced the physical works for the redevelopment of a 700-meter segment of Boduthakurufaanu Magu, spanning from the Izzudheen Jetty to the Henveiru Ferry Terminal. The scope of this project includes road widening, asphalt paving, and the installation of an efficient drainage system, alongside the construction of new pavements and street lighting. Additionally, a 610-meter section of the quay wall will be reconstructed as part of the upgrades.
Due to the ongoing construction, the affected area has been closed to traffic, and atoll ferry services have been temporarily relocated to the Maafannu and Hulhumalé ferry terminals. Once completed, this project is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow and provide greater convenience for pedestrians.
