Although three former presidents were invited to the festivities marking the 60th anniversary of the resettlement of Thinadhoo, President Solih did not attend. This was due to a condition set by President Yameen, who stipulated that he would not participate if President Solih was present. During this visit, a noticeably close rapport between President Yameen and President Nasheed was observed, a connection that reportedly traces back three months. Despite a collective agreement signed by the three leaders on May 15, collaborative efforts have reached a standstill as both Yameen and Nasheed remain unwilling to work with Solih, citing past grievances. The repercussions of this political friction are now increasingly evident within the proceedings of the MDP National Council.
