Iran and the United States have signed a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding aimed at ending the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Under this agreement, both parties have committed to a comprehensive ceasefire across all regions, including Lebanon, and have pledged to adhere to the principle of non-interference in each other’s internal affairs. However, the MoU does not outline any specific mechanisms to halt the ongoing Israeli strikes against Lebanon.

In terms of economic and strategic measures, the agreement proposes the removal of barriers for vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz and calls for the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from the region within 30 days. Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, the pact includes provisions for reducing uranium enrichment levels in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions against Iran. Furthermore, a $300 billion aid package has been proposed to facilitate the reconstruction of Iran. It is anticipated that this agreement will lead to an increased supply of oil in the global market, thereby resulting in a decrease in international oil prices.
