President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday for a state visit, following an official invitation from the President of Sri Lanka. This visit is aimed at further strengthening the bilateral ties between the two nations, with high-level discussions scheduled in the fields of education, economy, and technical cooperation. Additionally, several key agreements are expected to be signed during this visit.
The itinerary also includes the President’s participation in a business forum and a scheduled meeting with the Maldivian community residing in Sri Lanka. This significant visit, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Sri Lanka, serves as a vital step in reinforcing the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
