Following an inspection of the Thilamale Bridge project, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that the government places a high priority on ensuring the continuous progress of infrastructure development projects. Highlighting that critical projects such as the new terminal at Velana International Airport and Hanimaadhoo International Airport—which were stalled or delayed at the time he assumed office—have been completed at an accelerated pace, the President noted that the momentum of the Thilamale Bridge project has also been increased through collaborative efforts with the Indian government. With the bridge connection between Malé and Villimalé now established, the government aims to complete the entire project within the coming year. Furthermore, the President emphasized that India is a key partner in the development of the Maldives and that this bridge serves as a symbol of the close bilateral relationship between the two nations.
