President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu recently travelled to Villimalé on foot to inspect the progress of the Thilamalé Bridge, which now connects Malé and Villimalé. This ambitious infrastructure project, contracted to India’s Afcons with an investment of USD 500 million, spans 6.7 kilometres from Malé to Thilafushi. To date, 76 percent of the overall project has been completed. With the government prioritizing the acceleration of the construction, the current objective is to ensure the bridge is fully completed to high standards by the end of next year.
