The People’s National Congress (PNC) has announced that applications for 49 positions within its Senate will be open online from September 1 to 8. Party spokesperson Heena Waleed stated that candidates contesting for elective positions in the upcoming congress, scheduled for September 15-18, must submit a police record issued within the last month. Additionally, a dedicated call center will be operational from the first of September to assist with administrative matters related to the congress. As the PNC has now emerged as the largest political party in the Maldives, the party estimates its membership to have reached 70,000.
