
Following a period of deceleration in the Maldives’ tourism sector due to the conflict in the Middle East, tourist arrivals this month have recorded a 2.6% increase compared to the same period last year. With the resumption of flights by major airlines that were previously suspended due to the conflict, the daily average of tourist arrivals has now risen to 6,286. While China and Russia continue to lead as the primary source markets, experts predict sustained growth in the industry, bolstered by the strategic collaborative efforts of the government and industry stakeholders.
