Significant Changes to Key Stage 1 Textbooks Announced for Next Year

During the 8th International Teachers’ Conference, Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu announced that substantial revisions will be made to the Key Stage 1 textbook content next year to enhance student learning outcomes. The Minister emphasized that while curriculum updates are vital, meaningful progress ultimately depends on the dedication of educators. He highlighted the crucial role of teachers in familiarizing students with modern technology and advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Furthermore, the Minister noted that the enrollment rate for higher secondary education has increased from 40% to 50%, with projections suggesting this will rise to 60% following the establishment of the Male’ Vocational High School. Recognizing teachers as influential figures within society, Dr. Shafeeu urged them to collaborate closely with parents and the wider community to foster students’ academic development.
