The President’s visit is intended to honor the late Emir by participating in the official mourning ceremonies held in the country. President Muizzu has praised the late Sheikh Hamad’s invaluable contributions, describing him as the visionary architect of modern Qatar. Sheikh Hamad, who passed away at the age of 74, ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013. He was a transformative leader who significantly strengthened the nation’s economy and elevated Qatar’s standing on the international stage.
