According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, the Maldives has welcomed over 1.1 million tourists since the beginning of this year. While this figure represents a 4.8% decrease compared to the same period last year, arrivals are currently on the rise following the resumption of flights by several airlines that had previously suspended operations due to the conflict in the Middle East. China and Russia remain the leading source markets, with the majority of visitors entering the country through Velana International Airport. Government officials and industry experts remain optimistic that the sector will overcome existing challenges and achieve further growth in the coming months.
