First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has today officially inaugurated the newly developed 9-bed dialysis center at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. This new facility marks a significant expansion of the dialysis services that have been provided at the hospital since 2013. The center is equipped with a dedicated isolation bed and features specialized arrangements to conduct dialysis treatment within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
With the establishment of this modern facility, patients will no longer face long waiting lists and can access treatment more conveniently. Additionally, the hospital will now offer peritoneal dialysis services, allowing patients to manage their treatment more independently. This initiative represents a crucial step in the government’s ongoing commitment to bringing essential healthcare services closer to the citizens.
