Musa Ali Jaleel believes that the position of Male’ City Mayor is not a political office, but rather a service-oriented role dedicated to providing essential municipal services to the citizens. Having served in the military for 32 years and played a pivotal role in defending the nation during the November 3rd terrorist attacks, Jaleel is now contesting for the Mayoralty of Male’. His primary objective is to be a public servant who provides fair and equitable service to all citizens, transcending political ideologies.
Attributing the lack of significant development in Male’ to administrative and leadership challenges, Jaleel highlighted the work of President Dr. Muizzu during his tenure as Mayor as an exemplary model. To address the city’s congestion, his vision focuses on constructing dedicated parking buildings in various areas rather than merely widening roads. Furthermore, his top priority is to collaborate closely with the government to resolve the housing crisis and improve the difficult living conditions faced by the residents of Male’.
Jaleel emphasized that the Male’ City Council must be viewed as an integral partner of the government. He asserted that the development desired by the citizens can only be achieved through seamless cooperation with the administration. Consequently, he stands ready to implement President Muizzu’s strategic plan and transform Male’ into a livable, green, and resident-friendly city.
