
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced a comprehensive plan to establish police stations across all inhabited islands of the Maldives, alongside the construction of a state-of-the-art national headquarters in Malé.
Speaking at the official ceremony marking the 93rd anniversary of the Maldives Police Service, the President emphasized his administration’s commitment to resolving the challenges currently faced by the police force. He highlighted the pressing need for facilities that are proportionate to the growing population of the Greater Malé Region.
As part of this initiative, plans have been set in motion to construct a new building at Iskandharu Koshi and a spacious, modern service center in Hulhumalé Phase 2. Additionally, the President noted that the government aims to complete the construction of police stations across the islands by next year.
Furthermore, President Muizzu reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the police force remains free from political interference. He provided his full assurance that the government will provide the necessary support and cooperation to empower the institution in its service to the nation.
